Welcome to LAN Parents! This Privacy Policy explains how LAN Parents ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and password (encrypted).
• Profile Information: Your bio, profile picture, gaming preferences, console ownership, and games you play.
• Content You Share: Posts, messages, reviews, marketplace listings, and any other content you create within the app.
• Communications: Messages you send to other users through our chat features.

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, including features used and time spent.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
• Push Notification Tokens: To send you notifications about messages, friend requests, and events.

Optional Information

• Location Data: Only if you enable location sharing to find nearby LAN parties or gaming parents. You can disable this anytime in your device settings.
• Camera/Photo Access: Only when you choose to update your profile picture.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the LAN Parents app
• Create and manage your account
• Connect you with other gaming parents
• Send notifications about messages, friend requests, and events you've RSVP'd to
• Personalize your experience
• Ensure community safety and prevent abuse
• Communicate with you about app updates or important changes

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited ways:

• With Other Users: Your username, profile, and content you choose to share are visible to other LAN Parents users.
• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (Supabase for database/authentication, Expo for app delivery and push notifications) that help us operate the app.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted password storage
• HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
• Secure database hosting through Supabase
• Regular security reviews

However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Children's Privacy

LAN Parents is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your data
• Correct: Update your profile information at any time within the app
• Delete: Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out: Disable push notifications, location sharing, or other features in your device settings
• Block users: Block other users from contacting you

To delete your account, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirm. This permanently deletes your account and associated data — including your profile, posts, messages, listings, and any parties you host — directly within the app. To request a copy of your data, contact us at the email below.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. International Users

If you access LAN Parents from outside the United States, please note that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of LAN Parents after changes means you accept the updated policy.

LAN Parents uses these third-party services:

• Supabase — Database and authentication (privacy policy)
• Expo — App delivery and push notifications (privacy policy)
